This is a solid option if you have a Coyote gas grill. It’s a bit modular in its installation, with two precut holes for gas lines, electricity, or other lines you might need to run.

The construction is pretty great, a well made and thick 18 gauge 304 stainless steel. It’s quite shiny, which may be a plus or demerit depending on your perspective and whether it fits in with the rest of your decorative style.

This one is a bit more limited in versatility, working only with the 36 inch Coyote gas grills. Still, that’s one of the most common and affordable sizes, so it’s not a bad one if you happen to own one of those models.

This is definitely one of the more “take it or leave it” options. It’s well made but not exceptional (save in how good the ventilation is), but it fits a very common and well made grill type. If you have a 36 inch Coyote gas grill, obviously your only choice is this model. Given that, it’s hard to complain about the quality you get.

This is a fairly unique insulated grill jacket, since it comes with a different feature. Most insulated grill jackets are fairly one note. They serve as extra insulation in zones of high fire threat (there are combustible materials within a certain area of your grill).

As a result, most insulated grill jackets are content to do that one job and nothing else. As a grill jacket, this one serves as well as any other. It’s very well made of stainless steel, and is made for a fairly common type of grill (the 32 inch Blaze grills option), so it’s fairly good in that regard.

But the extra bonus is that it doubles as a wind guard. The jacket, along with a BBQ temperature controller, helps keep the flame from blowing out and keeps the wind from cooling down your food every time you open the grill, whipping the heat and smoke away.

However this does come at a price. Literally, not in terms of reduced performance elsewhere. This insulated grill jacket comes at an almost mind boggling price point, costing as much as some fairly high end grills would on its own.

This is an interesting one. Rather than coming pre-assembled for easier installation, you get a sort of “do it yourself” install kit for the insulated jacket.

This is a bit of a hassle…but you do save hundreds of dollars off what the price might otherwise be. That’s a sweet enough deal if you’re willing to deal with some extra frustration (and maybe roping a friend into holding your tools).

The construction is good, solid stainless steel and installation isn’t really all that hard in the grand scheme of things.

I’d say the only real drawback is this is only compatible with a single variety of Fire Magic countertop grills. That’s not exactly a common brand, and while they’re not bad grills…the chances are proportionately lower that you’re one of the people that owns one.

If you are though, you get a pretty good deal on this insulated grilling jacket. It shouldn’t be a disappointment in any regard.

This is a bit of a weird one. Most insulated grilling jackets are a sort of sheathe or box that covers the entire grill. This one is, technically, listed as a “heat shield” but serves roughly the same purpose. It adds a pair of thick steel plates to the sides of the grill, helping to make sure things don’t catch fire around it.

That’s important for the grills this heat shield protector is made for, as unlike the majority of this list they’re pellet grills rather than gas grills, meaning actual combustibles are involved in the operation.

This provides both more and less danger in some ways, so ultimately the heat shield is fine as the rest of the grill is already “jacketed” by default.

Due t0o the simplistic nature, this is also by far the cheapest “insulated grill jacket” on this list, though you more than make up for it in the price of the grill itself to be fair.

As far as built in pellet grills go, the Mephis Grills Pro and Elite models are some of the best around, so there’s a solid chance you have one. If you do, and need a bit of extra safety shielding, this is a great buy.

In terms of raw quality, this one probably wouldn’t have made the cut on any normal list. The construction of this one is very unrefined, and is likely to ruin the appearance of your grill if nothing else.

However, this is not a normal list. What matters most is that the grill jacket is compatible with your grill. If it’s not…well, you’re out of luck.

The American Grills brand is a pretty common one to get, and they’re fairly high quality without being exorbitantly expensive.

So, there’s a solid chance you own one, and specifically one of the 36 inch models, which is a pretty common one for a lot of people to get.

Basically, this model is here for one reason: because there’s a good chance you own the grill it goes to. The grill jacket itself is meh at best, but if it’s your only options, then unfortunately it’s your only option.

Rounding us out is this option, a bit of an iffy one, but one I think just eked out its place here. In terms of quality, it’s quite excellent you see. It’s very thick. And it’s polished well enough to look quite nice around your grill, whether it’s pure stainless steel itself or not.

The shelving arrangement is stable and very easy to install, and it’s cut wide for extra protection and long term durability.

However, as well made as this option is, DCS grills are fairly rare. They’re well made, but kind of fall into an awkward pricing and quality position compared to other grills, so you don’t see them as often. However, I imagine plenty of people have picked up a good one on a deep enough discount, so it’s worth showcasing this better than average insulated grill jacket even if it does go with a single size of a fairly niche grill brand.

Obviously, it’s impossible to pin down the absolute best options to keep your indoor grill safe for use because the quality of these insulated grilling jackets is entirely dependent on the grill they go to. Even if they were absolute trash (which I went out of my way to be sure wasn’t the case, here), that might be the only option you could possibly have to go with. Sometime you can gamble on a 3^rd party solution, or using a grilling jacket made for a different brand’s grill of the same size, but it’s just that: a gamble. That should be avoided unless there’s no other choice.

Ultimately the Blaze grills insulated jacket takes the top spot due to a confluence of being individually good and going with a very common and high quality grill.
