It started with one of those reeled-you-in Tik Tok posts: French Onion Mac and Cheese. Which got us thinking: How many other fabulous mac ‘n’ cheese recipes are out there? So we invited Steven’s followers on social media to share their best ideas. And wow. They had some! Take a look at these inspired takes on America’s favorite comfort food.

I use the New York Times recipe. Yes, the one with cottage cheese! But then I add Hatch green chile and black garlic.
Marty Tones
White wine, garlic, mushrooms with Brie and Gruyère.

My grandmother made it with stewed tomatoes, and bread crumbs on top.

Buttermilk, extra sharp cheddar, lots of fire roasted hatch green chile, cover the top with a layer of cheese, & toss it in the smoker!
Joe Waltz
I start with heavy cream under med low heat. I add the cheese once the cream is hot. Usually mild Cheddar Colby jack or a mixed shredded cheese. Cook the noodles and then season the cheese mixture with garlic and onion powder pepper and Cayenne pepper. Maybe a pinch of salt. Cheese is salty so not to much. Next heat up the oven to 350 and put the mixture in a baking dish. Top with blocks of sharp Cheddar and sprinkle parmesan on top. Bake until Cheddar cheese is melted and let sit to firm up. (For easier serving purposes) Finally enjoy!
